April Honors the Professional Pest Management Industry
3/27/2007 Honoring pest professionals nationwide, the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) declares April as National Pest Management Month. National Pest Management Month is annually dedicated to raising public awareness of the important role played by pest professionals in protecting American’s health, property, food and environment from the harm and destruction of pests.
Cindy Mannes, vice president of public affairs for NPMA said, “The entire pest management industry is honored by this continued recognition of their work as guardians of America’s quality of life.”
An industry wide public education initiative is executed in honor of National Pest Management Month every year. In 2007, NPMA will continue promoting their high school education initiative Pathways to Pest Professions, designed to generate career interest in the pest management industry among students.
“Many students are unaware of the diverse and exciting opportunities available in the professional pest management industry. With so many career options for today’s students we hope Pathways to Pest Professions will allow students to add another career choice to their list,” said Mannes.
National Pest Management Month has been recognized and supported by the President of the United States for the past 29 years and goes beyond saluting an industry to making the public aware of the serious threats pests can cause and the invested dedication pest management professionals have in protecting against such threats.
